Ausblick reaches out to the special needs of those in our community

On a beautiful, sunny, Sunday, March 26th, the membership of Ausblick Ski Hill reached out and gave an "experience of a lifetime" for two families from the Milwaukee area.  The families reside in a shelter hosted by the Salvation Army.  Through contact with Ausblick member, Dave Young, Dennis and the Board of Directors, Ausblick supported bringing these families out for a day of skiing.  None of the family members had skied before and hoped to get out this winter.  The Young's arranged for Les Moise' to outfit the skiers with rental equipment and Karbon jackets were donated for all seven children. Ausblick donated the use of the hill and picture ski passes as souvenirs of their day on the slopes .  Ausblick Ski School instructors donated their time for private lessons and the Ski Patrol helped keep everyone safe with one "slight" ankle injury, which earned a young girl a ride down in the toboggan.  After some ice, she was back skiing later in the day.  Each child skier also had an Arrowhead Team racer as a "ski buddy".  Many others helped with lunch and making sure everyone had fun for the day.  It was an awesome event for all involved and a great way for the Ausblick membership to give back to those in need.  In early February, Ausblick and the Ski Patrol also supported the SEWASP program by providing use of the hill to adaptive skiers with disabilities.  Please contact Dennis if you have any special requests or questions regarding activities supporting by Ausblick in the community. Thanks to everyone who helped make these events fun and special times for all involved.
